Has anyone kayaked out to fish South Marsh Island in the Tangier?

I never been there by kayak but back in the day a couple buddies and I would do overnight trips to South Marsh and Spring Island in a jon boat out of Chance or Wenona. It could get pretty choppy at times with the wind, but I imagine if you picked a good day, you wouldn't have any issues getting out there and back with a kayak. We'd fish all day and night and take breaks sleeping on high spots along the bank. It's probably been 10 years now since I've done that though.
We used to fish it for bull reds in the spring. I don't recall the striper or speck fishing being any better out there than it was around the marsh banks of Deal Island.
It would be a fun trip though!Brian -
