  • Another Good Day

Needed to get out with this great Md. weather, so Don Vance (FSFF) and I hit Crab Alley this morning. We launched to a strong flood and NE @ 10 winds, which made for a bumpy ride returning. On the way out We,ran into Gary67, as he was returning from an early morning trip.

We started by hitting the shoreline with some topwater action. Not the best water conditions, I later switched to a 1/8jig with a 3" PT. Quickly I caught a 19+" Striper in 4-5 FOW on a light action rod-only way to go!

Later I switched to a Spinner to try for some WP along a shoreline-very disappointing- area looked fishy, but no takers. So later we moved out to an old Duck Blind and found a bunch of schoolies in 6 FOW. We spent the next hour chasing them, lot of fight in a 14-16" Striper. I also caught a nice WP on my 1/8 jig.

Later Don hooked onto his first CNR, he spent about 15 minutes trying to get it close enough for a look, but didn't manage-the line broke at the leader end.

The bite stopped, and it was around 11, so we decided to head back. Later we caught some lunch at the local Mickey D"s. A good day!

Sounds like a good morning. Unfortunately I can’t see the pics, says invalid attachment. Good to have fish back in the shallows.

Congratulations Don. You're no longer a CNR virgin.

Now that you've experienced a CNR tussle, we can show you how to break them off quickly so you can get back to fishing faster.
