  • Snakehead - a new personal best

Landed a new snek personal-best on Sunday... 33", 14lb. The fry balls were hanging out in front of the lily pads in the main creek channel. I noticed a number of snek coming up around them for air gulps. I moved away from the bank and began throwing a white chatterbait out in front of the lily pads, in the vicinity of the the fry balls. It didn't take long for this beast to take exception to said chatterbait.

It was revived and safely released to continue on with snek parenting duties.

Nice fish...congratulations...and unlike a lot of other fish, a big snakehead is really a tasty treat...white, firm, mild fish...There is no size limitations for snakeheads for me...not like me and blue cats..I will not eat a big blue cat...nor a big striped bass...

Nice snakehead! That one was big and ugly! haha. My heart rate got jacked up just watching that video. Nice job with the netting technique too. Having a big net helps a lot in landing them.

Great job on the personal best snakehead. You have been racking up some big fish over the past year.
