If you are looking for rockfish, you might try the research pier. Weed through a number of shorts and you should eventually get something legal. Typically, best along the inside L. If you are putting in at the ramp under the bridge, just down river of the ramp up against the rocks you can usually find a few. Same goes for the up-river side of the ramp past the fishing pier you will see the shore lined with rocks. Point Patience can yield some as well. Appears bottom fishing is decent in the cove between Point Patience and the ramp.
I know I sound like a spoiled brat, but we catch stripers all the time. I’m more interested in flounder, bluefish, and croaker. We don’t get those much where I live closer to Annapolis.

We’ve been catching flounder in the Patuxent while targeting perch in the last two weeks. If someone made a concerted effort I’m confident they would find them around Solomon’s as well as PLO.

I’m with you Hawg. Last week paddled a 20 mile loop from just west of the Solomon’s ramp, out into the Bay then south of Cedar Point looking for blues, that stray red around the rockpile and flounder. Didn’t see any. Just a bunch of shorts.
