I attempted to take advantage of the weather today and go fishing from shore. The first spot was too open to the bay and very windy so I moved up a tidal tributary to a spot I've never been to before... Not only did the fishing not pan out, but to add injury to insult, I slipped on some muddy rocks, twisted my knee and ankle, and skinned my shin pretty bad. Good thing I was wearing heavy boots, or it would have probably been a lot worse, driving home (manual car, clutch leg) wasn't fun but I'm not broken. The heck with these overfished public access land fishing spots, this summers going to be all about the kayak for me.
The above aside, I really needed some outdoor time, and even though I didn't get much accomplished, it was still a good day and a good enough start to the year. It can only get better from here right? Lol. Hope you all have a great year, I look forward to being more active and learning from you all in 2019.
