Hit the water this afternoon, up in the Bush river, at some spots that look like snakehead heaven (Reeds, shallow, coves out of the current. Threw Ribbit frogs, Chatterbait, Whopper Plopper, to no avail. Sooner or later I'll get my first, and figure out where these suckers hide. The highlight of the day was the phone call from my dad, who pointed out that despite the fact that the cove I was in shielded me from any wind whatsoever, the winds had kicked up real nasty, and had turned so I had to head straight into them to get back to the ramp. It was a fun paddle! Sorry I don't have better reports, but they say we learn more from our failures than our successes, so I guess today was just a learning experience.
