Trying to find a lunch site in the legal keeper area of the bay without driving way down to Sandypoint. Seems that might be the only launch though

Maryland DNR website has Angler Access, a listing of public launches available in the state...in addition, each county in Maryland has their own County websites that list soft launches that may not be on the Maryland DNR site...there are lots of information about the different parts of our state for boaters and campers to access on-line...many give detail maps and highlights of the sites...

There's also this map, from Chesapeake Paddlers - https://www.cpakayaker.com/chesapeak...-campsite-map/ - Someone posted this link last year and I reference it often.

I use it in conjunction with the MD DNR map. And as Ron says, check the county websites - they generally have a detailed description of the facilities at each location, permits/parking costs, etc.

If you want to stay in the Patapsco you can launch at Ft. Smallwood in Pasadena which is on the other side of the river from Ft. Howard.

If you want to launch into the Patapsco where it meets the Chesapeake Bay, you can launch into Locust Cove from Downs Park in Pasadena.

            https://www.aacounty.org/locations-a...ons/downs-park

You'll have to paddle slightly over a mile through the Bodkin to reach the Patapsco River if you launch from Downs but it's a scenic paddle and productive in season. I haven't tried it this year so I don't know if stripers are holding there yet.

There are actually two launch options at Downs. You can also launch into the Chesapeake Bay itself. That launch enters the Bay just south of the Patapsco River.

Both launch sites are in Anne Arundel County Parks and have a $6 entrance fee. But there is plenty of parking and the paths to the water are easy to negotiate.

            Good luck wherever you go,
