thanks for your reports down the O...
brings back good memories when I was there for over 25 years...
Spent many a time paddling my canoe with my dogs over to Assateague.
I would always take a few days late Summer when all was crazy and camp out at the north end...
Pretty cool with all the crazy downtown OC across the inlet... and chill out in the calm at the north end.
Thanks again for keeping us stoked.

I spent a good amount of time on the flats casting topwater and sub-surface lures or trolling specifically looking for the bigger ones too. But they just weren't there. Tide and conditions were good too, so I should have coaxed a few if they were cruising around. It could have just been one of those day.

But the 18" - 24" fish are still there with nighttime around the lights really being best.
Those are probably the best size if you're after keepers. You could do a lot with those, whereas the bigger ones over 26", I think I'll just stick to smoking them.

I agree. But I didn't want the meat, I just wanted to hook gear busters lol!

These stories make me miss the days I lived on the beach. But life goes on and at least I can still fish in the bay. (at least when it's not made of coffee)

Very nice! I was out fishing at the OC inlet 2 weeks ago and got 35 fish. 6 Blues (About 14 inchs), 3 Tautogs (2 were over 16"), and the rest shad. Had a great time. I am going out to the Severn in about 2 weeks.
