Hit Breton Bay this morning with perfect conditions, barely any breeze at 5:30 and dozens of schools of minnows on the surface. For the next 2 hours it was dead even though I could see perch feeding. Finally I managed this one decent perch.
Switched to some Gulp figuring I’d bottom bounce looking for catfish. That didn’t pan out so I started to transition back to my striper spot when this surprise hit my lure.
Almost legal. Called it a morning around 8:30 but took 30 minutes to get access to the ramp as boat after boat kept launching and paid me no mind. If they’d have let me off they’d have premium parking instead of jamming their truck into the ditches, but I was invisible to them.
I think this is as early as I’ve caught specks on the western shore, so psyched to see what rest of the year brings.
