First trip for the season on my Hobie. I pedaled out to the mouth of the Magothy, trolling on the way along the channel edge. No hits. Decided to do a little bottom fishing, drifting soft crab. Stayed within the 6 mph markers just on the edge of the channel markers. Although this should be a safe zone to fish, many power boaters do not obey the 6 mph zone. Amazing the lack of respect, knowledge, or boating inexperience/ignorance there was on the water that day. Decided it was too dangerous and headed in shore towards deep creek area. Outgoing tide between 4:00-6:00 on the channel edge was the ticket, for big cats anyway. Caught 6 over 20" with the largest being 26.5" Had a blast fighting these guys. Took over 15 minutes to land the big one. Must have weighed close to 20 lbs. Non stop action hooking up, landing, and releasing. Released all but the one in the pics. A very thankful pier fisherman enjoyed that one, on their Memorial Day. FullSizeRender (42).jpgFullSizeRender (43).jpg
