I am headed out of Mattawoman Creek at Indian Head, MD around 7 am..you are welcome to join.I believe it will be fishable back up in the creek...would not care to venture out in the Bay or big waters with the wind forecast, but protected waters offer some degree of protection...the twists and turns of the creek cut down on the fetch...

Thanks for the invite. Not sure if I will make it that way tomorrow. I’m hoping wind finder is accurate and weems will be fishable
The optimist reads the first wind line on the Windfinder forecast. The realist reads and heeds the second line which is wind gusts. You'll find some protection tomorrow at Weems with an east wind but much of the northern shoreline will be dicey with the double digit gusts projected.
Good luck tomorrow. Let us know how you do, please.

Windfinder is calling for winds of 8-9 mph for Annapolis tomorrow morning. Wind direction is NE to E. Weems should be fishable. Work the shorelines and cast to shady areas. Low tide is about 8:15 am, so you should have rising water levels during the morning. Small spinners (spinnerbait style or inline style) should get their attention.

You definitely don't want to get out on the main stem with those winds, but can find some protected water in Weems. You'll still be fighting the wind when casting and trying to hold position around structure, which can be really annoying. One thing to be mindful of is that while you will find more protected water upstream to the west, the tide and wind will be aiding you on your way out, but working against you on the way back.
I'm looking forward to hearing how you do. I do think you'll be fine finding protected water. There are plenty of spots to hide back in Weems. Hopefully you land plenty of perch and see a summer pattern emerging. Good luck!
