It's interesting that the snakeheads are in relatively open water at Blackwater.

It's counter to their reputation to hide deep in vegetation waiting to ambush prey.

Nice video. One of these years I gotta get to the Blackwater. That promise to myself has been spoken by me for years. Poking around narrow cuts and channels is my type of fish... one of these years. BTW, are you left handed??? I see you switch hands after each cast.

Something I’ve done as long as I can remember. Don’t know why. I just feel comfortable casting and reeling with my right hand.

It's your comfort that counts.

You're in good company. I've noticed that a lot of the bass pros on TV do the same as you.

I find it awkward to switch hands. I cast righthanded and I reel with my left. Spinning reels are easy to convert to either hand. So are most fly reels. Bait casters are not. I bought left-hand-retrieve bait casters so I don't have to switch hands after casting.

Yeah, I make sure I get my baitcasters handle on the correct side (for me) whenever I buy them. I only own two. Both are my "trolling rods" that really skirt the "light tackle" line. They're my least enjoyable rods to use, but they both have line-counters on them that I find useful when trolling deep water.

As for spinning rods, I have always felt more comfortable putting action on the lures with my left hand. I also feel REALLY clumsy reeling with my left hand and really adept and accurate with my right.

I'm in the same boat. I am right handed but my father, who taught me to fish, is left handed. So for as long as I can remember, I've been fishing left handed. Switching hands doesn't bother me at all, but I guess I don't know any better since I've been doing it my whole life!
