Specks come and specks go

After vanishing for the past week or so we found speckled trout again today. I think we caught 6 between Ron and me, 5 of which were over 14”. Had some real quality stripers in the mix as well, including topwater bites. Incoming tide seems to be the key for the place we fished.

Here’s a 15” I caught.

We had a SMOG meet this morning...Gary, Mike and I...started out with strong striper bite and they were quality fish- I had three 20 somethings in my 11 stripers...got a nice 11 1/4” White Perch...Mike kept catching multiple species....Spot, Croakers...Specks...I wasn’t going to keep any until a fat 18” Speck ate my lure...the thought of crispy trout filet almandine over wild rice was too tempting...I had caught and released a 15-16 inch Speck before catching the 18...good morning on the Slower Lower...

Awesome. Love seeing the different spot patterns with a hint of purple. I hope the puppy drum come up as well. I caught a bull red from a boat last week.
