  • Perryville Paddle

Went out with the wife for a leisurely paddle yesterday, it was slack low tide so not the best conditions for fishing. We paddled across to Baker Cove, vegetation was thick all the way across, but when we got to the other side, current started moving as the tide changed. I had tied on a Rebel Pop-r and was casting along the reed banks just for grins and giggles. On one cast, as soon as the popper hit the water, I saw a HUGE wake heading for it. My heart raced, I'm sure I said something out loud that I don't remember, but there was no blowup. I have no way of knowing what it was, but I would like to think it was more snakehead-y than largemouth bass-y!

I saw another yak fisher out there fishing Furnace Bay/Mill Creek. Was it anyone from here? Orange camo in color I think...I didn't get close enough to see for sure, and the sweat was making my eyes water, it was very hot out there yesterday morning.

Would have been a snakehead, they go in there when the cover is thick
