Hello Snaggedline. I've come across some time off this upcoming Monday. Anyone out and about/available in the AM? I've got a buddy visiting and will be trying some top water and trolling. Due to my obligations, I've been limited to fishing this season. What should we be more focused on tides or sunrise down here. Launch point TBA by wind and weather. Has the SAV/grass not been around this year? TIA.

Monday is looking horrible wind wise, 12-15 MPH with gusts to 20 out of the E NE takes a whole bunch of water out of play. Couple that with low tide around 5:30 or so, a very weak tide coefficient, and you’re looking at a tough morning. If you must get out I’d try two spots. POint Lookout will be protected along the rip rap wall between the inlet and the point. Possible top water action early down near the old pier structure and we found breakers in there. Doubt you’ll be able to get out to the sandbar off the point. Other option, not quite as protected, is Abells Wharf on Breton Bay. Really good perch water to the left just past the gravel mine. There can be stripers at marker 8 or 9 that might hit top water.
Because of the forecast I won’t be fishing Monday right now.Mike

Went with it today and decided to try Piney Point, based on the wind reports. Launched and headed towards the gas docks. A bit too windy for us. Fished until high tide. Combination of trolling and casting. Casting was more productive, but a tough day. A few white perch and a couple of undersized schoolie rock. All healthy fish. Headed home to recuperate, going to try the evening bit in more sheltered waters 20190825_114655.jpg 20190826_093501(0).jpgshortly.Tight lines

Piney Point can have its own weather system...been there and had that experience...and it is not a pleasant experience with three foot white capping quartering following swells...trying to get back into the launch...it is a place you can catch some nice fish if conditions permit you to get out to the structure. The changing weather conditions there can be remarkably different from tide stage to tide stage..."Lady Luck" 2016 Red Hibiscus Hobie Outback, Lowrance Hook2-7TS
