I have been getting worried over the last few weeks that rockfish may not be coming back to my area of the Magothy this year. I’ve had very little action of any sort at my normal fishing spots. High water temps, dirty/polluted water, low salinity, etc. all crossed my mind as the reasons. However, today I found many areas of breaking fish, working birds, and marks on the FF. Water temp was 74 degrees and the action was in depths of 12 to 17 feet. Most of the fish I caught (both trolling and casting) were small but I did land one nice fat 17 inch per. I used a variety of paddle tails of jig heads and plastic shad. Hoping this is a preview of good things to come!
