Was fortunate to have a wind window to get out at Clark’s Landing today. The SE wind coupled with the king tide had water easily a foot higher than normal. My first top water cast to a grass bank yielded a healthy 18” football. That was it for the morning top water bite. I started trolling a milky white Gotcha twisty tail and picked up 3 more fish over 18” with a big of 20. The fish were very scattered and not necessarily in usual spots. When I got to Myrtle Point I saw small splashes along the tide line that develops there. Threw top water and was killing those 8” schoolies. Quickly left them as I couldn’t entice anything bigger up and my jigging didn’t produce either. Around 9 the tide stopped and so did the bite.
Could be a few days before winds let us out again. Overall I was very pleased with the quality and health of all the fish I caught today.
