Thinking about shaking off the winter time blues and going after catfish tomorrow at Benedict. Got the itch and it needs scratching. My buddy just picked up a 2020 Outback and we need to christen her. I've neither targeted catfish or fished this location before. I've read some older posts about fishing the area. I'll probably be using a rig set up as demonstrated in Moc's video. Thoughts on bait and whether to head up river or down river would be appreciated. I'm debating between Charles Cove and Indian Creek. Again, any insight or tips would be appreciated.

I have not fished the Benedict area for blue catfish, but for bait, I would use chunks of which perch, or raw chicken, or chunks of Alewyes when available. On some days the blue catfish would be picky and prefer one bail over another.

Fished this area...I usually fish above the bridge a few hundred yards on the right side facing up river across from the generating station...the fish seem to move a bunch, sometimes in deeper channels other times in eight to nine feet of water...Bill and I caught them in February in nine feet of water on cut alwifes (menhaden)
