  • Opening Day Weekend 2020

Anyone going out this weekend on a kayak? Thinking about it and just staying away from the main channels of the Bay. I'll be down near Herrington Harbour/Rose Haven area if anyone else goes out.

Is the Rose Haven Park open?I haven't driven by there yet to check. If so, I might head out of there one day this w/end, as long as the weather cooperates

This was on the AA website.

No, not at this time. Please be advised all county park beaches and boat ramps are closed. Recreational fishing at the parks is not authorized at this time, only fishing for sustenance is allowed.

I don’t live up there so don’t know if enforced or not.

I'm not sure but my in laws have a private beach right on the other side of Herrington Harbour so if its closed I'll launch there.

Oh, I think I chatted with you on FB about this! (You're the "guy who doesn't know where to go", right? )

That's irritating about Rose Haven. I don't think there's anywhere in Calvert, or nearby, to launch into the Bay right now, correct? Where are y'all launching up near Annapolis? I gotta get out soon... I bought my first pedal kayak in March and have only been out on it twice!

I think just about every marina is open if you don’t mind paying a launch/ramp fee.

ok, thanks! Any recommendations? I did just confirm with DNR that Benedict/231 is open for kayaks, so at least there's that (once the river flow isn't ridiculous).

Haha that would be me! I'll message you on facebook and see if my in laws are fine with you launching at their place. They literally live right next to Herrington Harbour. Any idea if Tyler's is open btw?
