Is it just me, or are the rockfish unusually chubby and healthy this year? I've been out twice in the past week from Rose Haven and both times found a lot of fish and they all seem to be much chunkier than past years.
I caught 30+ rockfish this morning, including two 23-inch fish, and another 20 or 30 fish last Friday. I've only been fishing the Bay for about 5yrs so my experience is limited, but it seems to be fishing unusually well so far. Part of that might be that I upgraded to a pedal kayak this year though (Topwater PDL 120), so I'm covering far more water than I used to and getting out into the fish with more comfort and ease. Either way, I hope it continues!
