  • ISO Help for a Bay Kayak Fishing Novice

    Hello All,

I live in Alexandria, VA and am just getting into kayak fishing. I grew up in the area, on the Eastern Shore, and have fished the bay quite a bit, but only from a boat. I was wondering if anyone would be willing to show me the ropes sometime over the next few weeks. I've probably got most-to-all of the gear I'd need. I'm just looking for someone to help me out with the more kayak-specific aspects of fishing the bay. I'm willing to travel to just about any launch in the area, and I'm not opposed to providing post-trip, socially distanced beers.

    Cheers,
    Justin

Are there any species in particular you’d like to target?

      Joe,

I mainly interested in going after stripers right now, but am open to just about anything in the bay. When I go out in the lower bay, I go after stripers, specks, and reds around Watts and points South.

Good to know. I don’t have any plans for this coming weekend, but I’ll let you know if I end up going for stripers. I’m also considering a blue catfish or white perch trip.
