  • Bush river kayak tips

Grew up fishing bass on the suskie up in north central PA, catching on with tidal waters is giving me trouble, and I'd really like figure out snakeheads. I was out by otter point yesterday, I missed two on the wacky worm near low tide, but they were the only bites in about 4 hours. Any help would be appreciated.

I don't think many on here fish the bush. There is a guy on facebook named Don Goff that fishes the bush for snakeheads. I think he was doing some guiding there also. You might try to contact him. I can't offer much advice I have caught only 1 snakehead and that was in February down in Florida. I am planning to try for here them soon but have been too busy. You might also try for them in the lower Susquehanna or the gunpowder. I also think from what I read certain lures might work better than plastic worms. I know frogs work well as do bull minnows. I also would try spoons, spinners, chatterbaits and spinnerbaits. I caught mine on a spoon.

I fished the Bush River last year. Send me a PM and we can have a discussion about what I know. I didn't catch any snakehead, but saw a lot of places that looked "snakey."

Yeah, kinda. I put in in the bush and roll into the super skinny parts with all the vegetation. But if you are close to otter point you are there.

I put in at the Perryville park earlier this week and fished that big cove. LOADED with grass, but the water was gin clear. Not sure if that is a factor why I saw nothing/zero/nadda. Very little in the way of any fish life. Saw once SH way back in the cove but think he was more interested in not becoming eagle snacks.

I'm striking out on local SH.
Put in at Mariner...covered 3 miles. Nothing.
                    Put in at Dundee....same.
                    Perryville........blank.

I go to blackwater and slay them, just tired of the drive.
