When you see points or other shorle line structure, try casting there. Top water in the morning can be good there in the fall. Good luck!
What he said...and one more trick...to help keep grass off “weedless” baits put a plastic bead on ahead of the hook...it really does help...

      Hoopers Island

Due to tide times and not wanting to get up so darn early I didn’t make it
to Hooper Islands last week. However I will be keeping this info that everyone so kindly shared for a future trip.

I may be without kayak for a brief amount of time. I ordered a Hobie Compass today. I will be selling my Vibe Yellowfin 120 possibly before the Hobie arrives.

If you know anyone interested in the Yellowfin 120 feel free to send them my way. I bought it last year. I ordered the Hobie because I plan on retiring after 30 years with the feds. So I ordered now because I knew once retired I probably wouldn’t buy it.

This is my pre-retirement gift to myself.

            Laura,

Congrats on your retirement from the feds and your new Hobie.

My path was similar. I retired from the feds 9 years ago and bought a Hobie shortly thereafter.

That purchase introduced me to a great hobby and has led to countless hours of enjoyment.

              Mark,

Not sure when my retirement date will be. Now that I can work from home every day I’m hanging on a bit longer.

I just sold my Vibe Yellowfin 120. So until the Hobie arrives I am without kayak. Now is the time to sell kayaks as used ones are starting to pop up on Facebook Marketplace.

I may do some fly fishing on the Gunpowder if I can find my waders. Haven’t used them in ages.

                Laura,

Well, in that case, congratulations on your pending retirement.

And don't overlook that you can fly fish in your new Hobie. It will take you places you cannot reach in waders.
