  • Perch & Pups

Went out Sunday morning and again this morning to get a little pullage in the Patuxent River. The perch were plentiful and enough small pups to make it interesting. The river from St. Leonard Creek to Broomes Island has lots of rock shortline and jetties to attract the fish, but honestly this is one of those years that the perch are literally everywhere. Once again, Capt. Bert's Perch Pounder came through!

There’s been an invasion of small pups this year, which is nice after last years ghosting. Now if some of their teenage brothers will show up.....

If I could only find them somewhere. I used to grab them from Anglers on my way to the eastern shore but they've been out of them for a while now. If you know where to find some, let me know.

I saw last week on FB they said they had a limited quantity available. Not sure if they are gone yet.
