Launched at PLO last Saturday with a late start about at 7:15am. The plan was to scope out the crabbing and see what’s biting. I balanced 3 traps on my Outback and made my way out to Cornfield Harbor.
There was a mild breeze about 6mph and it was already getting hot.
I moved twice until I found an active area that wasn’t too close to the pots. In between pulls I found a few croaker on the bottom. The crabs were small; most going back. After getting only 3 over 6”, I left the traps to go check the new work on the lighthouse and sheds.
While I was there I tossed a senko along the rocks on either side of the sandbar and was rewarded with a PB speckled trout at 22”.
I couldn’t reproduce the action so I collected the traps and called it a day.
