Fished hard and covered lots of water. A few follows and no hits. Oddest thing was the total lack of sighted fish in the feeder creeks and shallow spots. Water was clear and tide extra high. Water temp held steady at 72.. Talked to a few others and no love was given by Mattawomen today.

      Capt. Mike,

Were you targeting snakeheads? Just curious if a sudden cooling spell like we've recently encountered turns them off. Our water temps were near 80 just a week or so ago.

      Thank you,

Normally the cool snap gets the fish super aggressive. Buzz baits and swim bait moved fast really gets them eating. Not the last two days. The extra high tide also has them way back in the weeds and we did not see much movement while I push poled the 3 miles of weeds. Saw two snakes moving about and plenty of turtles too. So the water is not cold enough to shut them down. Snakeheads did follow but not strike. So did a few LGMouth in the last two days. It is mystery wrapped around an enigma shrouded by the unknown.

Might be time for some early morning sorties for convict bass already.
