  • Where to fish?

Thinking about where to fish Saturday morning? Looking for a big stripers on an outgoing early tide. I want to try something different than the Severn river or the Bay Bridge I assume around Kent Island out of good hands is great. Has anyone been out of Romancoke or Beverly triton recently?

I had a decent day out of Romancoke about a month ago, and a not-so-good day out of Cabin Creek two weeks ago. The Kent Island launches have been very feast or famine for me in the fall in recent years. In two trips to Romancoke last year about a week apart, I had my best and worst trips of the year.

I agree with Rugbyfish. Goodhands and Cabin Creek have been unpredictable -- you can find some large fish or find only little ones.

The bass guys are telling me the Potomac is filthy with stripers Trolling a rattletrap around produces a lot of keeper size fish as well. I imagine Baltimore and the Key Bridge or Smallwood will produce as well.

I'm going to give the Patapsco a try tomorrow, toward the rear.
As stated by others, Romancoke has been very hit or miss for me.
Going to give something "closer to home" a try. Not crazy about the Baltimore scene though, so we shall see.
This is a new spot and water for me.

I would recommend Fort Armistead. It put you right under the key bridge. When you head out from the boat launch you will see a green channel marker towards the bridge Direction. Lots of fish here below the bridge if you troll figure 8’s. The bridge pilings and rip rap have lots of perch. You should catch plenty. Going out of Camden boat launch will put you in a lot of boat traffic but plenty of stripers in the harbour. Post your results.
