Family duties kept me off the water during the right tide window today but I had to get out - and I am glad I did.
I fished St. Leonard Creek from my pedal drive and I was able to troll up a couple of schoolies for fun, maybe 14 and 16 inches, on 3/8 oz jig heads and yellow and white shad assassins. Then I set my sights on the shade of the trees along the bank for perch. I keep hoping that a puppy drum will show up in the mix soon. These white perch are getting their shoulders and starting to put up a little fight on some light tackle. I had maybe 30-ish fish in a couple of hours of fishing on 1/4 oz white and silver Perch Hounders with several of them coming in at 11-12 inches.
I put the trolling rods back out and got a couple of pull downs on my way back home but nothing that wanted to commit.
