Weems Creek 6/25

First time trying out Weems creek with my kayak. Launching out of the Tucker St ramp, I paddled all the way up to the head of the creek and back with no success. It was my first time attempting to troll from my kayak. I then headed for the mouth of the creek catching a few small perch casting around some of the piers. Just before heading back to the ramp, I landed a nice catfish on one of my perch pounder lures. It totally caught me by surprise and put up a great fight. I’ll definitely be heading back again!

Welcome to the forum! Those surprise catfish are always fun, especially on light tackle.

I've gotten enough "surprise" catfish in Weems at this point that its not really a surprise anymore. Now the 30 inch carp I got while perch fishing with a jig last summer that had my kayak doing donuts, now that was a surprise!
