  • Kayak Fishing St. Leonard Creek

I started the day trolling over some hard bottom lumps with 3/8 oz jig heads with 4 inch white and chartreuse bass assassin paddle tail shad plastics.

I picked up a few stripers and marked a whole bunch more on the side scan then moved along and left them alone.

After a few fish, I switched it up to white perch fishing throwing 1/4 oz Perch Hounders in white with a gold blade.

Nice trip, cool music. How is your fishing kayak rental business going?

Just like everything - slow to start but there is traction being gained. It's not for lack of fish availability LOL - which is the part I can't control. I really think the late summer and fall will be the make or break window. My creek stripers are really starting to fatten up and are eager to bite. Thanks for asking!

Cool, glad to hear it. I asked you about this (somewhat skeptically but genuinely interested) on another forum when you were just starting your venture, glad to hear its gaining traction. I am definitely looking forward to the fall when the rockfish come up into the rivers and creeks to feast on all those bunker that are just hanging out!
