  • Nice morning on the Annapolis Bay Bridge

Got out to the Annapolis Bay Bridge just before 6am today, fished a bit more than 3 hours. Conditions were very calm, no wind, nearly glassy water at times. A small profile 1oz paddletail jig around the pilings (#20 especially) scored 10-15 schoolies, 3 19"+ but none over 20.5". Didn't see any Spanish mackerel or any new visitors like specks or drum yet. Excited for September though! Overall, a super easy and fun morning that still had me back at my desk in time for my first work call.

Nice job catching all those stripers. It certainly was calm this morning. I trolled for 4 hours in the Severn and caught fewer fish than you did.

Thanks, John - kayakers really have an advantage on those pilings, as the fish often sit right inside them. The bigger boats can't get as close and are too tall to really get under there like us

Awesome sauce! I prefer those nearby pilongs as there is always fish on them! Thanks for the report.

There were 5 kayaks at PLO this morning. I think between us all there were 2 blues, 1 striper and a few lizardfish (gladly export those). So happy someone found some fish. Bright shiny moon not helping us, that and water at 83.
