Was on the water around 5pm. The wind was still ripping and I was seriously doubting this trip. I figured I would just go for it. I wasn't worried about my safety just more getting worn out quickly. I decided to paddle against the wind and current to start to make sure I would be ok. I took my first run with a wet tough paddle. No takers. I turned around and head back. No takers again. I decided I could beat the wind and decided to hit my next spot. Towards the end of my run I was almost zoned out when I got my first take. Not huge but got me energized. Shortly after I had 2 more on my larger lure. Both around 17". I continued to go through my spots pulling in 2 more on the smaller side and one more fatty 17 that worked me pretty good. I love my 2000 size reel. It makes these fights seem epic. Another good night at solley.
