Joe, John and I hit the water thirty minutes before sunup today...my first fish was a 19 inch Speckled Trout...heard Joe on the radio saying he had boated a dreaded lizardfish to break his ice..I boated and released two stripers trolling when the call came from Joe announcing he was into breakers...he was into top water action and his fish were over 20 inches...I reeled in my Zman swimbait and grabbed my 2500 CI4(+) Stradic outfit with a chrome chartreuse Rapala walk the dog lure...I see a few gulls out in 18 FOW along a channel edge and kick Lady Luck into motion...a long cast a few jerks and first fish on top water is pulling drag..for the next solid hour or so it was non- stop frenetic action...catch, release and cast...repeat, repeat, repeat! Joe and I must have caught 30 apiece...WhenICan (John) did not have his radio so we were not sure what his fishing was like, but later found he was having a blast, too! After full sun up slowed the top water and allowed us a chance to rest up, we started trolling and casting to shoreline structure...willing big White Perch kept us smiling...a 16 inch redfish filled out my Southern Super Slam along with a dozen or so lizardfish...wife asked for a few fish for a fish fry, so I brought home a mess in my Magellen Outdoors deck bag..just finished cleaning and fileting our fish, so I am ready to fry fish- tight lines!

Ron,
Those are the kinds of days you remember and keep talking about for years, and the kind that make this hobby so addicting! You just never know when you're going to have an absolute banner day which makes it all the more special when you do get one.Dave
