  • November- One of the best Fishing Months of the Year

Who else believe November has some of the VERY best fishing of the entire year? It is cool enough that you can work the paddles/peddles without sweating your butt off and if you use the right lures/bait for the species you are targeting on the tide cycle that produces- all key anytime of year, you can have a lot of sleigh rides on the water and bring home some delicious dinners.

If Santa would tell me where and when to get a ride, I would definitely bring my sled

I agree. I've been catching massive amounts of fish lately stripers, large cats, crappie...you name it. Weather's nice and you can get up a little later since the sun isn't up yet

Here's 2 of 20-30 I caught this weekend in the upper bay.

Couldn't get a fishing partner and I had been gone all week on travel so I stayed home and cut my grass- no fun but something I needed to do- kept peace in the family, too- I really wanted to get out and get some pullage, but it didn't work for me-

Actually, I have better luck in September and October. By November, the wind and lack of daylight usually conspire to minimize my time on the water, especially saltwater fishing. On the bright side, the pickerel and bass bite is usually good enough for me to get some pullage.

I must go along with Bill. I have always done better in September and October. When the water hits the mid-40s, stripers seem to shut down in the bay tributaries. Then you have to go to the main bay and the weather seems to limit access. I must also agree the days are short.

Just to make the point- there are fishing opportunities to be had not only here in the Bay and the local lakes but short drives south of us- especially OBX-
