Upper Potomac Smallie 11-20-11

Not in my kayak, but still a fun time out on the Potomac. I'm trying to learn where the smallies go in the fall and winter. This 14 inch smallie hit a beetle spin with a curly tail grub on it. The fish was in about 2-3 feet of water near shore, but not too far from a 12 foot deep hole.

I wonder if the fish go up in the warm waters of the Dickerson power plant when it gets cold. Were you far from there?
