  • Warm Winter

If the warm weather holds for a while- I may have to reconsider my hasty decision to put up the Outback for the winter- this is the kind of year where Rockfish will hang around- if you use meat on a fish finder rig around deep water holes, you should score a few fish- chunking bunker should produce on slow drifting- especially if you are chumming-

Once it snows a big snowfall of several inches, the water temps will drop like a rock- until that first big snow happens the cow stripers should be hanging in the 50 (+) feet of water along the channel and drop offs- when using chunks of bunker for bait, you can catch other species like big blue catfish (that might be what we are seeing as fish marking on the sonars)...

Tuf- they definitely eat crabs, but I would fish bunker over crab- unless it is a peeler or soft shell- then I would fish the crab-
