  • Susky Perch Jerking

I plan on taking my kayak out to do some perch jerking before the meet and greet in Feb. Let me know if anyone wants to join me. I believe Shady and Josh might have considered going. If you guys or anyone else is going, I would like to meet up with you on the highway and follow you in. I want toest out my new GoPro2. I plan on bringing only two rods. If I am the only one that is going, I will still post up a report on the yellow perching conditions. Bmail me if you are interested. I was thinking of arriving at Susky around 11am and fishing for 4 hours.

    Weather For Perryville, MD

Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 51. Light wind becoming west between 10 and 13 mph.

Saturday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 29. West wind between 10 and 15 mph.

    On the fence . . . .

If the wind stops I think I'm going to Perryville - launching at Owens tomorrow.

I can't go tomorrow, but I might be going with my dad in his boat on sunday. I'll probably be launching around maybe 8 or 9. Let me know if anyone else is going. Sounds like the bite is finally on, but still a lot of small ones.

I was going to hunt for last time this season but if a few people are going to meet up at the Susky, I'll load my yak up and head on up. I'd love to catch some yellow perch and start my year off right with some fish.

If The wind is a SW wind, the island provides great protection and keeps the water calm. Last year moc and I got caught in some sudden wind and chop. Once we made it behind the island, all was calm and well.

Protection yes. But now you're not near the fish.

Too much wind and its a boat ride ... not a fishing trip.

Well, it looks like the wind will not be an issue. Here is the latest weather forecast for Perryville, MD :

Saturday: Variable winds less than 5 kt becoming SSW 6 to 11 kt in the morning. Mostly sunny. Waves 1 ft or less.

I can fish in that kind of weather. Looks like it will be around 50 degrees....pretty warm if I do say so. The winds look like it will pick up more in the afternoon up to 9 to 13mph in the late afternoon and night. Saturday seems to be the best day to fish. I most likely may change my launch point to Owens Marina to redunce my paddle time. I am willing to launch from anywhere if anyone is definitely joining.

I just got my imaging ff today and have it set up in the house. After a few mins rigging it to the yak I'll be good to go. I'll be launching from Jean Roberts tomorrow. I'm hoping around 9 or 10 but I hate to give a solid time because it will depend if my installation goes smoothly or not. Hope to see you guys.
