A friend of mine and myself will be venturing out of Piscataway River at the FREE boat launch at the end of Wharf Road. NaySayer will meet us there at 10am. The tide will be going out, but we will fish the slack and the incoming high tide. If anyone wants to join us, feel free. I heard that there "might" be some perch and bass in those waters inaddition to catfish. We are armed with minnows, beef liver, and some kind of frozen shad or bunker. The winds will only be 5 to 10mph in the morning and dying down to only 5 mph in the afternoon. The high temp is predicted to be 51 degrees in the day and 35 degrees at night.

Good luck Moc- wish I were able to go but I have made plans to be at BPS for the MKF- cats are active and aggressive- you should slay them with the bunker- minnows work too- I caught one last week at Mattawoman creek on my UL outfit (4 lb test) on a live minnow under a bobber."Lady Luck" 2016 Red Hibiscus Hobie Outback, Lowrance Hook2-7TS

Nice fishing with you today Moc! I ended up with 5 blues from 16-24 inches. 4 on cut frozen spot and 1 on a night crawler. Most fish came in around 20 fow right at the mouth of Piscataway Creek. Also fished in 8-40 fow at scattered points from the creek mouth to Fallon Point without anything to show for it. Missed a bunch of fish today. Couldn't seem to hook them to save my life Maybe because my cut bait was to big for the fish I was catching.. Either way, I good day on the water! Good fishin

Those blue cats are pretty clean looking compared to the channel cats and flatheads Im used to. I guess you are going to be hooked on them blue cats after the monster you caught last time. Glad you got some pullage.
Those forward rodholders look good on the FS10. Are they removeable? It looks like they came from basspro, did everything you needed for installation come with them?

Chimo,
Nice looking catch there. The channel cats look very clean. Perfect eating size there. I need to get out there after some of the big cats on the Potomac, been saying it for too long. Last time I caught one of any size I was fishing a grass bed on main river for bass and hooked a pretty decent sized blue on 4" rubber worm.
I hope to get on some soon.
Glad to see you got some pullage today.2012 Hobie Pro Angler 14

Nice work, Wayne. Were you using the same set up as when you caught the big blue last time? How close to shore were the 20-40ft depths? I'm trying to build a better mental image of cat locations by adding to what I've seen while electrofishing.Yellow Hobie Revo Rube Goldberg

The front rod holders I put on for trolling this fall but they work well for soaking bait as well! They are just a flush mount, extender and rod holder. I placed them as far forward as I could and still be able to reach the rods but I still have to shorten my paddle stroke a bit when using them. As far as basspro goes, yes they have everything to make it work. Just don't make the same mistake I did... Make sure you buy everything the same brand. When I bought the set up I didn't realize scotty, attwood, cannon and basspro rod holders weren't all compatible with each other so I have a basspro base attwood extender and basspro rod holder kinda sorta working together I'll redo it with all scotty components one of these days.

It was great fishing with Chimo today. I caught most of my fish on the northern side of the mouth of the creek. I caught 4 blue cats with a few that got away. They ranged from 19 inches to 28.5 degrees, I caught 1 on minnows. And I caught the rest on beef livers. The tide was real strange. High tide was after 6pm this evening, but the tide was lower that when we launched at low tide. Go figure.

Nice catching guys. Sometimes we forget how fortunate we are to have access to many types of saltwater, estuarine, and freshwater fish within an hour or two of our homes.John Veil

Wayne/Martin, you guys had some fun and got some tasty filets to eat, too- perfect eating size- Congratulations, and I echo John's comments- we really do have a lot of fishing to choose from in Maryland- the Bay, Assateague/Ocean City- fresh water rivers and lakes- we are fortunate-
I have a business trip tomorrow into the Gulf Coast but plan to be home for the weekend- unless the weather is awful, I'm going to fish this weekend- even though I have brand new travel rods, I won't get any opportunity to use them on this trip-shame too."Lady Luck" 2016 Red Hibiscus Hobie Outback, Lowrance Hook2-7TS
