  • Magothy Pickerel

Fished very close to home today in a tributary of the Magothy River. I put in at Ferry Point Marina in Arnold. BTW they have a nice ramp there and now have a special ramp fee for us yak fishers. $10 for two yaks. More than Jonas but it is an opportunity to fish waters that have very little public access. I have only fished this creek two other times with mixed success.
Went to the last place I caught fish and on the first cast I caught a 15 1/2" pickerel. On the second cast, I had a fish follow the lure up to the boat. Weel, that was it. I had a couple of strikes in different locations but no hook-ups.
I was a little breezy but very protected in the creek.

A fish a day keeps the doctor away. Nice going. Awesome to get one on the first cast!
