My advice for this weekend- duck into sheltered, protected waters- with all the water we have had falling from the sky, it will affect fishing any where...and with high WNW winds, it might be bumpy out there- be careful- catch some fish and have some fun-

Figure I'll get out my Ultra Light 4# test outfits and stay in skinny, fresh waters this week...even that is really iffy with all the rain- seems it is this way every year at this time- floods and dirty waters filled with debris- last year was the pits-

Too early for me. I'll be staying in Baltimore tonight so harbor hospital is a better bet for me. Good luck with the cats!! Couple weeks ago I caught one on a 4" paddletail shad, but the other guys were killin 'em with cut bunker.

Well, sounds like its going to just be me and the cats tomorrow. I plan to camp out in the channel with four lines out. Hopefully they all go down at once...

I wouldn't do that Ryan- too many lines to get in when you get the big one on- I normally fish just one bottom rig and a minnow on a slip cork rig on my second rod at the creek (about four feet deep under the cork)- anchor up in the edge of the channel, fish in the channel with a fish finder rig with cut bunker- that will get you a fish today- good luck and catch a big one-

I managed to get 2 small bullhead cats and a medium sized white perch on night crawlers. I also caught a 21" Blue catfish on a large minnow on the bottom. This was the first time that I've caught a Blue catfish. Hopefully they'll be bigger next time, but Im happy I atleast got one that pulled pretty good and qualifies for KW points...

                        Catfish nuggets for dinner tomorrow!

                          Ryan,

Good job on.the cats. How bad was the wind out there? Blew like crazy all day here. Actually still blowing. Got to love those March winds. I can't wait to hit potomac for some fishing.

The wind wasnt too bad, but I was amazed at how strong the tide was when it started to come in. I had a hard time holding anchor...

It was a pretty slow day, but atleast i didnt get the skunk because it was definately looming for a good while in the begining. Most people I talked to said it was slow for them too. One guy said, "yea its been slow today we caught about 20 Bass." WTF that would be a great day of Bass fishing for me, maybe I just suck at Bass fishing. There was a guy fishing from shore going after crappie and i saw him pull in one nice sized one. I didnt even know crappie were in there...

Most of the creeks if not all of them on the Potomac hold crappie. I've caught some pretty nice ones but farther north around Piscataway. That is a good day of bass fishing 20 in one day. The potomac can give you those sorts of days though.
