  • 3/4 - Wicomico River

To windy and cold to take on the water pics, but here is what two of us kept. Released just as many, only smaller. A few small rock and couple catfish mixed in also. Fun day.

Nice white perch. Never fished the Wicomico River. What town is it in? Just curious. Long drive but always looking for new places to fish.

Where at on the Wicomico? I was right in downtown today, a mile south of Brew River. Im guessing you were further south?

Nice to see some other eastern shore guys on here love all those rivers. Have the stripers come through the nanticoke river yet? Try launching around roaring point where the wic and nanticoke meet.

Pretty upset right now. Just got a report from a fellow student who caught a solid 30" striper down on the Nanticoke less than 2 miles from where I was fishing Saturday. He was fishing from a boat. Definitely guna try and get after it this week.

Looks like the main yellow perch run might be over in Allens Fresh. Paddled up as far as you can go and caught alot of whites but only small yellow males. Alot of yp eggs on brush in the water. Any good yp runs still going on elsewhere?

That was our first stop. We launched from the Nanticoke Marina around 730 and fished the last 2 hours of the incoming tide. Bloodworms and jigs prodiced nothing. It was super windy and equally cold. It wasnt very impressive, so we made the move to the Wicomico. We put over at Whitehaven Ferry and paddled about a mile up river until we found a nice little hole. Bottom rigs and bloodowrms were the ticket.

We launched from Whitehaven, but Salisbury is the main town. Whitehaven road off of rt. 349 will take you to the part of the river where we launched.
