new curado wont work!

ok please help someone soon.so i bought a curado today and the level wind works when i reall in,but it doesnt move when it is on freespool wut should i do please help

That is the designed purpose- less moving parts, longer distance casting- the level wind is to lay the line back on straight when retrieving line-

thanks i called bass pro and they said basically what you said,my heart stopped when it wouldnt move like my calcutta or my ambassaduers

Don't sweat it. The worm gear driving the level wind should be disengaged during freespool. Like ronaultmtd said, less moving parts = less resistance on the cast and more distance. Baitcasters definitely take some getting used to.

i have calcuttas and ambassaduers. the curado was my first low profile baitcaster.i have used round baitcaster my whole life
