The places I am looking at are good and easy for my sit in 10 footer so once I pick a spot I can let you know. It will likely be the soutwest boat launch area in Baltimore.

      ronaultmtd,

Good thing I'm getting started. Beware! I might take you up on that...I'll bet that's really pretty over there...saaay, does that lake have advisories on it for what you can take home or not ?

      jarradw,

I've never been over there yet. What do you fish for?

Bass, crappie, perch, cats, anything else swimming that will take the bait

Bush river is great for small yaks since its pretty shallow. Unfortunately there won't be much here except some cats and carp for the next couple weeks until the perch really get going. I like the tail end of the gunpowder around mariner point park. Aside from that I'm not really sure. I'd like to try to put in at the susky but I don't know the area well enough to go alone.

This is a 75 acre lake named Wheatly lake in Charles County- good clean water- fish are good to eat with no advisories....bass right now are strictly catch and release but crappie, sunfish, red ear perch and bluegills are always available and good on the table...as are the rainbow and sometimes brown trout that DNR stocks....and the catfish...

I am heading out in the morning, launching from the Southwest Boat Launch in Baltimore if anyone wants to join me. Not sure what I will find so I am bringing bass rigs, crappie/perch rigs and a few assorted other goodies. I will catch something

I will probably be launching out of the Southwest Boat Launch in Baltimore as well on Saturday. Taking my gf out on her first fishing trip on the Oasis (tandem Hobie)

Anybody know where to get worms and/or minnows in Baltimore? I called Tochterman's and they do not have any. I figure live bait will be the easiest way for her to catch something, but I don't want to drive all the way to Angler's to get them.

Early spring rockfish seem to hit the small bloodworms...there is a bloom of sea worms in the Bay every year when the stripers gorge themselves on them.

I grab worms at walmart and there is a bait shop in Glen Burnie for minnows.

Pretty small bloodworms at Walmart in Eudowood Plaza.
Also, they have mealworms. Kinda puny.
Trout worms, Canadian eartworms, green worms (doh!)

NOW---Petsmart, in that same shopping center has wax worms and meal worms that are 2"+ and are marching all over their container.

Tochterman's will have, like, gourmet bloodworms probably in april. I love that place!

I have used petco for crickets too, too bad they dont open earlier. I didnt get a chance to go to the store so artificial and whatever I dig up for me.
