Friday Fishing at Fletchers??

Forecast for this weekend is not very inviting.. Rain, rain and yeah 60-70% more rain...

I am about to play some hooky. Anyone interested in some Friday Fishing at Fletchers?

Some shad and stripers are showing up, a few white perch and I’m sure the cats are in the mix. Water temp 63-64, water gauge at Little Falls is less than 4ft with visibility around 5ft. Air temp in the 80s… Low tide @ 4:18am, high @ 10:02am…

Fletcher’s has DC licenses or you can get them online

I'd like to join you, but I have to work tomorrow. I am planning on going in early and leaving early and stopping by Fletcher's around 3:30 - 4:00 so I'll be there then fishing from shore. I did the same thing today and fished from about 4:15 - 6:15. I hooked three shad with one jumping and spitting the hook before I got it in. Good luck.

Me too I have to work. It sucks about the weekend weather.

I don't have to start a job til monday so I will be there.Probably around 10 am,the riverbank is really muddy so the best place to launch(if it is low tide) is at the far end of the parking lot( bottom parking lot) there is some strewn logs there but the ground is hard gravel/stone.I will be in a blue oceankayak.
The tunnel getting to the bottom parking lot is only 7ft high so you might consider parking on the top parking lot and wheeling it down.

The worst part of my work Friday is I have a 3-4:30 appointment in downtown D.C. That means fighting crazy rush hour traffic with all the "bloom peepers" in town- and no playing hookey with an early departure-

This isnt spring its summer... water temps at 64-65 degrees, air temp in the high 70-80s.. fantastic

Met another MKF yakker, crawdad, on the water. Good to meet you, hope the perch cooperated

Shad darts and cut bunker all day long today..

American Shad, Hickory shad, White perch and a few blue catfish, one topped out around 20lbs.

Nice meeting you Camelbird, Beautiful day out there the flyfishermen were out in full force, it seemed like no one had to work there were people everywhere.I headed up river for the perch but ended up catching a 18" striper on a rattle trap.

Sounds like a productive day. Depending on how this weekend's rain affects the river, I'm going to try and fish it mid-next week. I'll probably take my canoe with troller and see if I can hook into a few Americans.
