  • Do you need a lip grabber in a yak?

For retrieving fish in a kayak, do you need one of those Berkley lib grabbers? In my boat, I just use fish gloves.

    Thanks,
    John

I have 2 sets of lip grabbers but I prefer a net. A net kees the fish under control and the hooks away with less chance of losing the biggun' .......... there's a flounder in OC that has become Pinch's Great White Whale .......

All I use and have never had an issue. You can buy them at Backyard Boats.

        Yakfisher,

I like that idea. One less metal thing flopping about in the boat. I think I'll get one.

        Regards,
        John

GREAT IDEA! I'll buy one for my boat too. Then I won't have to play around putting gloves on and off.

I especially like them for holding toothy ones (toads, blues, etc.). All plastic, so they don't rust.

BTW. fyi. This thread should be in Main Forum, Tackle Shop or even Dry Dock. The Boatyard is for fishing reports in MD. Fishing reports in VA go to Waters Beyond - Virginia

Sorry, I'm an old guy who is not too computer literate.
