  • Still no Specks in the Slower Lower

In the last two years we’ve reliably caught nice speckled trout in early May here in the slower lower This year the cold weather has delayed their arrival and other than a sporadic report of one or two in a pound net I haven’t heard of any caught, despite several folks targeting them. Hopefully we’ll get a string of warm days to entice them north. For those of you who travel this way to find them, save your vacation for better days.

Thanks for the report Mike. Hopefully it will only be another couple weeks at most.

I've already started seeing reports of them in the lower Rappahanock and Piankatank, so they can't be too far behind.
