  • Some perch found in Church Creek

I spent three hours in Church Creek and the South River this morning and found some nice size perch. The biggest was 11 inches and fat. I caught him trolling at 1.4 mph with a beetle spin lure.

The water near the launch was absolutely filthy with scum. I guess that area doesn't get flushed out much.

I was there at low tide and probably won't go at low tide again. There is a lot of SAV near the bulkheads and walls on the South side so stay away from there. I actually wound up grounded about 30 yards from shore up near the mouth. I never figured I would ever ground in a yak!

Glad to hear that perch are moving into Church Creek. I fished there about 2 weeks ago and found a few small perch, but it took a lot of searching to find them. I trolled for a while looking for stripers, but found none and fought floating grass.
