  • Tuckahoe Creek 7-11 : bust

So, we did the family vacation this weekend, Wife and I and 3 adult kids.
We stayed at the Air B&B on the water at Little Choptank "bay" area, but did not put boats in there.
Sunday, we ended up at Covey's Launch on the Tuckahoe, 6 of us in 6 kayaks. We luanched at 11 am to an incoming tide. Water visibility was about 6-10" with a white chatter/grub tail.
All of us experienced fisherman, we threw chatterbaits of every color, spinners, Plugs, frogs, buzz, etc.
Not a hit one,,, Wife wimped out and put shrimp on a hook and caught 2 small catfish.

I know, it was not ideal time or tide,, but nothing?? I really expected someone to get a snakehead

That's disappointing but hopefully you had fun with the whole family on the water anyway. You opted not to fish the Little Choptank?

Every once in a while I look at a map and see the Tuckahoe launch in Hilsboro and want to give it a try. It looks like you should be able to get some bass and snakehead from there, or at least some sunfish to keep it fun. I've never made the trip over there though.

We did have a good time.
We had to be out of the Air B&B by 11am,, opted to split from there and make a day of Tuckahoe,, I "think" the previous rain and fishing the incoming tide skunked us.

We are launching Nan's Cove (Brooms Island) at 3 today for kayak crabbing and some fishing.

Only time I have fished Tuckahoe Creek was for the perch run. In addition to yellow and white perch, I've also caught pickerel, and a couple small bass on those trips. I know there are snakeheads in that creek above Lake Tuckahoe, and I'm sure there are some below the lake, but I've never heard of it being a big fishery for them.
