Normally wouldn’t post 2 days in a row but when you get a 32” bull red, well exceptions can be made. Sorry I don’t have a better picture, I was exhausted, the fish was exhausted and I wanted it back in water as quick as possible. It was a very pleasant end to a great morning. I’d caught high quality rockfish, trout, and huge perch that were inhaling my paddle tail. Decided to call it a morning and threw out a 5” blue and silver Yo-Zuri crank bait hoping to pick up a blue on the pedal back. I was in a featureless area when my rod doubled over and line started screaming. I knew it wasn’t a ray because there were violent headshakes. About a minute into the fight, about 20 yards from where I’d been drug to the water boiled as a large school of bulls blew up on bait. By the time I got my fish in they were gone. Really glad I’d changed out the trebles for 1/0 in-line hooks as I think the trebles would have bent.

Dang, Mike!! Way to go! That is an awesome fish, and you have definitely earned it this year. Half of catching big fish is skill, and half is just putting the time in on the water so you're their when the opportunity arises. You've definitely put in both this summer!

Congratulations. That was a great way to wrap up an already successful trip. Good to hear that reds are in your area.

              Wow Mike.

I know you're rightly excited by the red and speck, but that is one large white perch too.

              Congratulations on all your catches.
