I met with Big Mike today for a beautiful morning of fishing in SOMD. The weather was amazing - not too hot, partly cloudy, and no wind. I caught a pair of nice speckled trout trolling paddle tails along grass edges... I'll never get tired of catching these fish, they are so pretty. The first speck was a very nice one at 21" and fat. It was just my second fish of the day around 6:30am and already made the 3am wake-up and long drive worthwhile.

A while later I pulled in another decent one at 14", equally as pretty.

Also saw a handful of dolphins which was really exciting for me. I've never seen dolphins in the bay before, only offshore in the ocean. I know they are a death sentence for any chance of a bite turning on, but things were relatively slow today already. No pictures, unfortunately, as it was just 2 or 3 and they were moving steadily down river, clearly on a mission.
